Brigham Street: 1909
Rebecca Hartvigsen

My love of history comes from my Grandmother Wride. I would sit by at her knee for hours listening to stories about our family crossing the plains and their early years in Utah. This painting is a study of South Temple or "Brigham" Street. I chose the year 1909 because that was the year the Union Pacific Depot was finished and the old Deseret News building was torn down to begin construction on the Hotel Utah.
